Bakuchigen Serum™ brings three of skincare’s most-studied gentle brightening actives into a single formula — bakuchiol (1%), vitamin C (ascorbic acid), and ferulic acid (2%) — designed for skin that wants the benefits of retinol-like cell turnover without the irritation that retinol can cause.
Bakuchiol is a plant-derived compound studied for its retinol-like effects on the skin: it supports cell turnover and contributes to a smoother, firmer appearance, with significantly less of the redness or flaking that retinol can cause. Used at 1%, it sits within the range supported by published clinical research on bakuchiol tolerability.
The vitamin C and ferulic acid work together. Vitamin C is one of the most-studied antioxidants in skincare — it helps protect skin from oxidative stress and supports a more even skin tone. Ferulic acid is a plant-based antioxidant included at 2% to stabilise the vitamin C, so the formula stays effective for longer in the bottle and on the skin.
The supporting cast does the rest of the work. Rose damascena flower water calms reactive skin and provides gentle hydration. Rosa moschata (rosehip) seed oil adds essential fatty acids and additional antioxidant support. Sodium hyaluronate draws moisture into the skin for plump, comfortable hydration. Tetrapeptide-21 supports skin’s natural structural processes.
Bakuchigen™ is formulated for sensitive, reactive or pigment-prone skin — and for anyone whose skin has not tolerated traditional retinol. It is fragrance-free, allergy-tested, and designed to be used twice daily.
