Most people hear “difficult” and immediately think of a doctor’s surgery or a serious clinical diagnosis. I’ve had so many of you say, “I love what you’re doing, but my skin isn’t medical, so I don’t think this is for me.” But I didn’t choose that word because of a textbook. I chose it because of the life I’ve lived.

For me, difficult skin means skin that reacts — sensitive, rosacea-prone, hormonal, acne-flared, or caught between oily and dehydrated. Skin that doesn’t fit neatly onto a shelf.

The cycle of ‘Temporary Fixes’

To be very clear: we aren’t doctors, and we aren’t trying to be. But I focus on “difficult” skin because I’ve spent my entire life living with it.

The beauty industry loves labels like dry, oily, sensitive, reactive, hormonal or anti-aging. If you have a bit of everything, they call it “combination skin” — which is usually just a polite way of saying your skin is in a constant state of conflict.

I know that frustration so well. For years, I visited dermatologists and used various prescriptions. I’d be happy for a moment because my confidence would return, but it was always temporary. The second I stopped the prescription, I was right back to square one. It felt like I was stuck in a loop I couldn’t escape.

Finding the ‘Sweet Spot’

That cycle is exactly why I stopped and finally started listening to my own skin. Junita® Lab was a long-term research project for me. I spent years experimenting, and I’ll be honest — mistakes were made at my own skin’s expense.

Through that process, I researched the best ways to combine active ingredients from their original sources to find what I call the “Sweet Spot.” Usually, powerful ingredients can “clash,” which only stresses out moody skin. My goal was to find a perfect harmony where they work together instead of against each other.

The strength of harmony

By bringing together ingredients like Ectoin, Bakuchiol, and Tetrapeptides, we created a shield that helps your skin finally find its balance. We took specific steps to ensure that:

The right Vitamin C: We chose a version that provides a glow without the “sting” or irritation.

Bakuchiol over Retinol: I swapped Retinol for Bakuchiol — nature’s retinol alternative — because I wanted those anti-aging results without the redness and peeling that often come with the alternative.

Skincare is about Well-being

Throughout all this research, I also realised something fundamental: your skin health is deeply tied to your overall well-being. Stress and how you care for yourself play a huge part in how your skin behaves. We’ve formulated our products to respect that connection, focusing on calming the skin so you can feel more at peace.

Today, I haven’t needed to see my dermatologist in a long time. Even when I have a breakout now, I don’t panic. I know why it’s happening, and more importantly, I know how to calm it down. That sense of resilience is what I wanted to build for you.

Come and say hello

If you’ve been caught in that same cycle of temporary fixes, I’d love to meet you.
